With their unique menu items and an extensive selection of beer, Baxter’s attracts a diverse clientele.

Upon walking into Baxter’s, the first thing that catches your eye is their conveniently displayed selection of beer. With 224 bottles and 22 drafts to choose from, they are sure to have something for everyone – and you better believe you will find selections from your favorite local breweries. Hoppin’ Frog Brewery, ranked 17th best brewer in the world, holds a release party at Baxter’s the day before every new beer hits the shelves. The release party consists of an appearance by the owner of Hoppin’ Frog and the head brew master himself, who hands out samples.

Baxter’s opened on September 6, 2012 by Mark Hudak, who named the bar after his son’s middle name. Mark is originally from Akron and is a first-time business owner. He decided to take a unique and fresh approach not only with the beer selection, but with the menu as well. Unlike most bar food, Baxter’s utilizes fresh local ingredients and creates all of their dishes in-house. From homemade crackers and pickles to fresh squeezed juices, every item on their menu is sure to have a distinct taste. You can even taste an exclusive blend of mixed nuts courtesy of their neighbor, The Peanut Shoppe.

There is never a dull moment at Baxter’s whether they are featuring food and drink specials or live performances. Weekly specials include:

  • Monday: Open Mic Night from 8-11 p.m. (walk-in and register)
  • Tuesday: Taco Night: $2 tacos and $4 margaritas ALL DAY!
    • Taco flavors: Root beer braised beef, Mexican BBQ braised chicken, cumin chili spiced shrimp, Makers Mark bourbon apple BBQ pulled pork

  1. I’ve been to Baxter’s for an open mic night and it was a wonderful experience! I was pleased to find that they had so many local beers on tap. Baxter’s is very welcoming and if you are a performer you will be more than pleased with the amount of stage space available to setup. Great spot with great service!
